I finished the aircon install yesterday before flying out so many little jobs that take time. All the ducting, vents , remounted my batt and oil pressure gauges into separate holders each side off the column. All under the guards are wired and wrapped , airlines fitted i have a twin thermo for pushing air on order have the wires out front waiting for that, relocated the tranny cooler under the front stone tray.
I took Blackys advise and got a small jet ski / Harley battery its cranks 900cca for the first 5 seconds the salesman said then down to 430cca . Jeez boy its so badass i thought the starter motor was about to explode.
Just need to get the a.c leak tested and gassed now.
Fan works with heat , its weird having air blow on you in a fb with the windows up unless you have super rusty floors i guess
The unit blower is quite power full even on speed 1.
Be interesting to see how the ac pulley goes under load there is only about 80 deg of belt touching due to the set up.
So now im excited to get the freshly powder coated HR front, hg disk and drop spindles put together to slot in.
Ill be putting my current spring's in for a laugh but have a feeling front fender will be lower than the top of the rim and k frame wont be far off the ground.
So options
*Is it worth changing to hr drag links arms to run the risk of it hitting on my sump ?
Everything else will be new parts on the front end.
*Instead of changing my lj torrie diff drum pads and cylinders to suit disk front brake (when the new front goes in , currently drum front and rear) , can i install a proportion valve for the rears ?

An adjustable one certainly. Dual mc and just boost the front circuit should work okay too.

Been messing around with some old rims and tyre to get some measurement ideas and sizes.
I picked up a old pair of hg 14x8s and 1 hg 14x7
Tyre size 215 65 14 on the 8 and 205 60 on the 7".
The 7 and 8 on the front hit the tie rod and top wish bone. My current flipped deep offset 6" that are currently my rears i chucked up front but push the 185 right out to the fender on the king pin front i think HR disk front will push it out further ?
Plenty of room around the lower which makes the 2" drop spindle look like a good idea to center both wish bones center of the rim. Ill sort front rims and offsets once the hr front is in.
I did the old white electrical tape white wall to get an idea of the looks
The 8" with the 215 should squeeze up nicely (but probably rub when the diff flexs down curbs) ....... if i get the inner guard mod done to flatten it to the chassis rail. The outer guards were pumped prior painting back when.
Anyone in Perth reccomend or know who could do this for me. ?

Those eights will rub with body roll even with mini tubs. I’ve had 205s on 7x13”. They still rubbed on inside untubbed. It’s only on body roll. Fit a rear sway bar but say bye bye to over steer.
Hr disC won’t make a difference to track.

What diff and off rims set were in the back mate.
I've got 252mm in the higher parts of the wheel tub so a 205 would give you 23.5mm each side if the rim was centered to the wheel tub.
I know the 8" rim actually measure 9" wide outside to outside and same for 7s and 6s etc.
Tbh i was just chasing hg center to put in 7" bands but 8s and the 1 7" came along for a bargain. I could pull the centers from the 8s but seems a waste of rims they would be good for maybe a hr or hktg.
Might just hunt for a stock hg rim rip the center out and put in a new 7" band then id also have a pair of 7s.
I'll get the tub work done then re evaluate the rims and offset.

Stock EH diff and big back space to get thend under guards. Way more clearance than your photo still rubbed on body roll. When cornering body rolls so outside wheel rubs against inside of tub.

John Gilbert - Fantasy Customs , in Malaga - 0450 119 450
Brodie Nosepicker - Advanced Racefab , in Kelmscott - 0435 032 058
No idea about my tubs, there are 235's in there and they have a little bit of room , thats all I can tell you.

To check the body roll clearance just jack the rear under one side spring pad. You will see the wheel swing up in an arc and contact the inside.
