Hi Tim. It's the fan only jobbie ( I saved the flash one with all the gizmos for the ute). With the speaker hole open and no windscreen you can get at everything easy enough. There's only one wire on the ashtray and it just runs straight across the dash bottom to the fuse panel so no drama there. Reminds me -got to spray the glove box lid and ash tray soon. Will do a job lot with those quarter vent window gutter thingies and the b pillar plugs and the bonnet top. Hopefully this week.
Made a start on attaching the hoodlining this arvo. Rust treated the irons and painted them yesterday in preparation. Be glad when that job is behind me.

Of course you will Patrick. We are going to do some outings with Orange Betty very soon.

Ha ha, you're funny Brett! I have started working on Betty again after finishing that dodgy trailer I bought (didn't end up being the bargain I thought it was) but she is waaaay behind Wilma. Of course she could go out on the trailer...

Hi ya Dave. Thought that would stir you up! I've got some sedan pilar and dogleg cuts that I"ve finished with that you might like to have. I'll take a snap of them and send to you. Good to hear that you are back at it. Next Nats for sure.

Working on headlining yesterday and today. Pain in the butt because the headlining had been pre-glued but then wrapped in bubble wrap. Over time the glue had attached to the top of the bubbles. Had to get many, many bubble dots off the lining before I could glue. In the end, the only option was to wipe the glue off the whole thing with turps. Stretched it out last night and today patiently worked my way around with glue and clips following the great instructions given on the forum. Have to glue on the strips running down the panels next to the back window tomorrow. Only a couple of wrinkles- one left over from when it was stored and one from fitting. Hopefully Kate's hair dryer will sort it out. Pondering whether to run a bit of thin foam under those back curved bits to make it look a bit softer. Thinking I will. Fitting headlining is not a job for the faint hearted or those in a rush. How did they do it on the assembly line timeframes? Pics tomorrow.

PS Selley's Clear Grip does not work, but the gel stuff worked well. Sika make stuff but I think it's 3 min drying time would not give you any wriggle room for the necessary adjustments.

It's best to glue the foam to thin cardboard, cut to the shape of the C-pillar, then glue it to the C-pillar.
Do you already have wadding jammed inside the C-pillars?

Hi Rob, no nothing in there yet. Bought a can of expanding foam to do bottom of B pillars so should put some in Cs?

Thanks Rob. Hi Tim, why no foam? Wilma's had foam in them and so did the spare pillar cuts I had. C pillar dogleg was full of bitumin, so was thinking about whether to put foam in that one as well. There has been lots of discussion here about air movement up B pillars when driving. I am a bit puzzled by that though because my B pillars are closed off at bottom by the top of sills I think? Preference would be to have no fillers in any of them....

I think a chunk of foam from Clark Rubber or the like would be preferable to squirting expanding foam in there - the red rattler had the boot insulated with expanding foam including the double skin under the bootlid because at one stage it had a fooly sikk sound system in it , had a hell of a job getting it out.

I think this may have come up because I had an issue with the roof lining in my Ute and found it was air getting in between roof and lining.
When I was putting my sear belts in I removed the original foam that was in the B pillar I also found a couple of holes in the tray underneath the cabin divider which I thought was the cause of the air ingress, even though I thought I had blocked them properly the issue was still there.
If I had of realised earlier before the head lining went in I would have just put foam back in as Blacky said but because it was in the only way to put something in was through the upper seat belt bolt hole with the rapid expanding foam nozzle just fitting through the bolt hole.
Down side, you have to be careful how much or it will bulge out the B pillar cutouts that a Ute has.
As I said had I known I would have used normal foam before head lining went in.
