The ute came back today after waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. The colour is a little bit darker than what I saw in the can but happy with it.
Now to start putting it back together with the drivetrain first up.

Colour is OK but we did have lighter silvery blue in mind. Paint on panel looks different to paint in the can.
The hard lid will be padded black vinyl.
Currently painting the engine bay and should have the drive train in tomorrow.
Daz, the house in my neighbours place but mine is similar without the concrete yard.

I got the engine and trans ins without too many issues but the my exhaust was one.
Headers and inlet manifold fitted no trouble but I had to rely on my memory as to which way the muffle went on ( off set one side at one end ) and which way the middle pipe went.
I had it off and one more times than I care to amitt. A tip for those who intent to make your own exhaust system, fit the shockers ( I changed the angle to miss the sway bar ) and the sway bar mounts before finalizing the exhaust pipes.
My pipe is very close to both but will work. Mitch gave me a hand with the Dynamat today. He is much more flexible than I am.
Still progressing forward.

Love it Roger. That is a serious looking fan. Looks like it could be off a later viscous clutch fan.

I got the fan off of a VC commodore starfire motor.
2 extra blades should help.
I'm ding all the other stuff instead of tackling the wiring. I purchased a 12 circuit kit from BlueWiire.
the closes I have got to it is unpacked it on the bench.
With the weather forecast in the next couple of days, not looking promising for painting, I may have to bit the bullet.

I have been busy up the station fencing over most of October so not as much done as I would have liked on Ammo's ute.
Tail gate in, rear bumper on, doors on, front guard attached loosely pending gapping.
Running gear all in bar the tailshaft and brakes completed.

I had an issue with the chroming of front indicator surrounds at A Class Plating here in SA, so I grabbed a set of Retro Richard and sent these to Wizard Class Chroming in Queensland.
5 month later they arrived back home and I'm less than happy with the results. There are small indentations on the front surfaces that should have been corrected during the plating process but I can live with those. RH side has some material added which suggests the edge was "eaten " away in the acid tank.
The LH side has not been washed correctly of the cleaning solution and has dripped out of the screw holes, which is causing flaking of material and will need to be fixed. Will probably grind off and silver zinc paint. Their website reads "Home of the diecast Wizard " but my results suggest differently.

A class Plating has correct their processing issue and rechromed the first set at no cost so I have a good set for the ute and a spare set as wall art.

I been working on gluing in the door rubbers after aligning the door then find out there is no room between the front guard and the door so off the doors came.
Door rubber guled in and left door back on and aligned. Add the power window setup after installing the baily channel and one piece glass.
Glass is very tight so I have not tried the power window yet.
Appreciate any suggestions to loosen the glass.

I have a pair of front guard trim off an FE that I may add. As it is too long I had go at cut and TIG weld but lack the skills to weld this thin stainless.
So I decide to cut and form the end on a old piece of trim
A quick file and grind and looks ok

looks good on but i can see an optical problem with it because there is a line in the guard and the strip slopes up it's always going to cause the optical illusion of not being put on straight will always look like it's sloping up or down depending on which line you choose to follow
