Soooo…….. tried to put the gearbox in on my own yesterday- with predictable results , gearbox not in and back thrown out ImageImageImageImageImage

We had a club run today and when I got home I got the young bloke to give me a hand to get the box in like I should have done yesterday and this is what we found -

So - this now needs to happen , make the hole way bigger so the shifter can be removed easily from inside the car and use a VR/VS style Commodore rubber boot to seal from the floor to the gearstick.

What about the dogleg shifter extension, will it still do the job blacky?

Haven’t built a shifter yet , going to use the old one to keep it looking the same - will sort that out once the seat goes back in so it in the right spot.

Well , got a chance to do a bit on the old strumpet today, made a new radiator support bracket. Started by chopping an old one up for the end bits -

Then chopped up a bit of patio tube to fill in the middle bit

Used the old bit to get heights sorted

Cut the old captive nuts out and cleaned them up

Cut tack cut off cut again tack some more repeat

Make it fit , had to offset it forward to clear the front of the radiator

Put it all together and there is no room for the £#%+@$ing fan so the whole bloody lot went in the bin
