I dodgied one up on my ute, with the common bits plus a cable tie and it ran the nasco natrad tap in the back of the 186 head very well, using a bit of pushbike brake cable and outer. Then the SUs came along and fouled the hose, so went with a cock under the dash, in easy reach of the cock behind the wheel.

Dumb question for today: are they metric nutserts?

Cheers,
Harv

Yes sadly - I bought imperial nutserts as well but having trouble finding the installing arbors

I have an intermittent control I am going to fit to the Ute the same as I have on the sedan……. one day 🤔

Stephen
I have a couple of HJ-Z units here that would be easy to adapt , what have you used ??

Hey Blacky
I used this, old school intermittent control, 25 yrs old

This same unit is in the sedan, set on approx 3 or 4 secs and hidden under dash. I used the original wiper switch that has three positions.

Have seen other adjustable intermittent timers on flea bay that would also work.

I have ordered a generic delay unit - not certain it will work , if it does I will order a few more as a couple of our club members are interested in one if I can make it work.

These were the ones I thought could work off flea bay. They have adjustable on period and adjustable off period.

Got the heater finished off yesterday, all plumbed up and ready to go Image

Had to drill a 1.5mm hole in this screw to make a clamp for the cable
Image

And fit it in here

I replaced the O ring in the heater tap and it is now hard to operate, hoping once there is some coolant in there it will be easier to turn - will also pull it out again and put a smear of rubber grease on it

Fly home tomorrow- been on site since last Monday savouring the beautiful Tanami desert 40degree heat with the occasional rain to boost the humidity up ImageImage
Hopefully the wiper dwell unit will be ready when I return , the carpet is there as well I believe and I ordered one of these so I can get rid of the head unit in the glovebox
Image
Will see how it performs, I got the top of the line one with hands free phone feature but it will probably be useless over 80km/h with all the road noise Image
