Yeah - OK,..... didn't realise I'd left this "open"....
Ummmm..... wheels are coated in POR glisten PC .... I only did the inner centres (alloy) and decided to leave the visible alloy bare for polishing.
I coated the inner chromed steel (what tyre covers) and the outer chromed steel in Glisten PC as well.... it has taken the "deep" dark chrome effect away... but these are now permanently "sealed" from everything.... a small price to pay for immortality.....
Ummm..... tyres (Good-year GT-3's) fitted.
I might make special mention here - that if you decide to use 14 inch wheels, you may have a bit of difficulty getting your desired profile/size in the brand of your choice..... I wanted Bridgestone Turanza tyres... but they are no longer available... it seems this 14" size in a wider format is not viable in tyre manufacturers.... hence the GT-3's .... a compromise, I believe I made mention somewhere above some light years ago that this might occur.....?
Ummmmm..... whees, tyres and fitting all in limbo.... no further action....
All waiting available "time" to continue the project....
Ummm...... oh, yes - last "thing" I did was to fabricate some mount plates for wider spaced mud flaps.
The mud-flaps I have fabricated and include two red and one orange ultra-bright LED's for brake lights and turn signal in each.
They are dropped down by a series resistor and work in unison with brake/turn signals.
I "dremeled" out channels in the flaps and the wiring is "hidden" ... enclosed within the flap.... so it gives the impression these are not wired at all......
Ummmmmm... it was only because of Yogie's question that I had a peek at what the last post was on this torrid little project.....
I'll be very much relieved when it is finalized and I can post up some pix of the wheels all merrily running along without any complications.....
frats,
Rosco
ps.... till next time (don't hold your breath, folk....sorry).... perhaps your grandkids will end up getting the final chapter to this.......
