If anyone's planning a "left hand drive FB/EK expedition"

, the info below may help. As late as the late-50's, Holden had exported left-hook vehicles to the following countries:
Angola
Bahrain
Chile
Greece
Guam
Hawaii
Iraq
Iran
Kuwait
Lebanon
Mozambique
New Caledonia
New Hebrides (Vanuatu)
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Samoa
Syria
Taihiti

Cheers,
Harv

Sadly, I'm probably silly enough to do it.
Cheers,
Harv.

Firstly, thanks Steve for posting this, it has really piqued my interest in looking for an old left hooker to bring home. And it's the first time I've seen an actual left hand drive EK outside archival footage. If we're picking countries to go a huntin' , I'd reckon while Guam, Tahiti and Hawaii sound like a good place to go, I'd be surprised one has survived the tropic environment.
I think Iraq, Iran or Kuwait would be a better place to look.
Come on Steve! I could see you atop a camel, searching the deserts a la Lawrence of Arabia!

Bit easier to get the missus to agree to Hawaii & Tahiti as a holiday destination though
I've been in contact with some car collectors in Greece but no luck yet.
Personally, I'd go for New Caledonia because:
1). It's a physically very small country (7000 square miles)
2). Small population (250,000 people)
3). Small population means not many cars today, maybe less than 100,000?
4). Close to Australia (cheap to get to)
5). Possible that old cars are just left where they die (rather than being crushed etc.)
6). Very small market for cars (especially back then), and I'm guessing they were kept going as long as possible.
7). Wife will come with me under the thin disguise of a holiday!!
Unfortunately there were probably only a handful taken there in the first place

The owner of the car contacted the FE-HR Car Club of ACT about the car. The Club had an article and pics in their August 2009 Newsletter "Pist n Broke" which gets posted to a lot of other early Holden Clubs in Australia. I saw the article and emailed Tim Miller and Michael Pilger at the Club who sent me the email of the owner which I forwarded on to Steve. Steve then contacted the owner. Simple!

Got this from my contact in Greece this morning.
Please be informed that last week I searched for Holden FB/EK of 1960-1962. I found only one but 1968 year owns by an antique car collector.
Next week I will go to the scrap cars yard to see if I can find anything
Let's see what Stelios is able to find. Fingers crossed

No point going to Tahiti, if you find 1, it will be a RHD.
Holden developed left-hand drive units for Greece, Iran, Iraq and New Caledonia.

I'm surprised noone has posted this pic yet.

A closer look.

FB with EK front. There must have been atleast 2 FB/EK's in this area at some point?
Have Stelios pinpoint the location in Greece by the signpost. The pic is at least 20 years old though.

Regards
Alex
