Cheers Mai Ki, no everything will stay under the bonnet. For some reason best known to my iPhone, the angle I took the pic at makes it look like the carbs are sticking up.

cool, i know they're reasonably hard to come by and expensive but a finned alloy side plate would look the goods

Yeah, I've kept an eye out for one of those for years Mick, but the guys who have them don't want to sell them.

Thanks Ian, yeah I know about the AussieSpeed ones and how they don't have the oil leak problems of the original alloy sideplates. I'll leave it for the time being, but I might be tempted to buy one later down the track though

It'll be 10 years this November Russell Life kinda got in the way for a long time (stint in the US for a couple of years, marriage, house, child, yada, yada, yada).
If it turns out as nice as your Shalimar Blue one, I'll be happy
