Yes I had a look. It says over paint and over metal and I'm wandering what others have done😁

Sika power 4720 may be the go if that is your preferred brand. Suitable for structural bonding and panels can be tack welded before it cures. Apply to cleaned and prepd bare steel.

Gratuitous Saturday shots. Passenger side sills secured, drivers side next job. Considering what's needed to be done, I'm quite pleased with things so far. ImageImage

I'm enjoying this one a bit more than the sedan. This one was a TOTAL basket case ( more rust than a car park of Fiats!) and it's good to see it getting back into shape. Also because it's a bit easier 2nd time around, and most importantly I have a litre of Electra Blue paint ready to put on and I'm busting to see what it will look like😀. And I want to drive it to the Nats next June and give cheek to a few people in person.

Nice work Brett ... Yeah, I found the passenger side of mine easier because the rust had done most of the disassembly for me :) Patrick

Hi Patrick, it does seem to be a pattern that there is more rust on the passenger side than the drivers. I think Clay has expressed a theory about this.

Cops most of the thrown up gravel, mud and water from the side of the road.

This stuff it’s a cavity wax. Smells like a sheering Shed so could be lanolin based
The long tube with it is great.
Drilling small holes or through the small seam gaps and feed the tube in. Has a spray on the end.
Done my sills, in behind where the rear 1/4 meets the sills and k frame.

Thanks for posting that info Blackdog. I have used a couple of brands of cavity wax on Wilma and agree those long nozzles are great.

An afternoon of cutting. 3 separate layers of sheet, I guess added years apart. The first layer was the original floor I think, the second a replacement floor patch welded straight over the top and the final layer very thick sheet that took a lot of cutting. Went through 5 discs and a few half used ones to get that undone.

Thats a nice rust catcher right there - I bought a HQ 1 tonner years ago , when I looked at it I lifted the carpet to look at the floor and it looked real good , a while later I had it on a hoist at my mates workshop and the floor was absolutely ratshit - previous owner had done the same trick , laid a Rare Spares floorpan over the original floor and put about 3 tacks of weld on it.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
