Thanks Jay,

That's exactly what I have done, fingers crossed and I must admit I am a bit paranoid but soldier on.

Sanded the joints back with 40 grit, they look ok.Re filled and sanded painted and highfilled.

Phew, got some tiny spots to touch up then start looking and final rub back in prep for paint.

Original colour Capricorn Coral and Snowcrest white has got the final nod ! Some will dislike it and some will love it.

The final match has been mixed until its as close as possible to the original.

Getting very close for this paint to happen !!

One of my favourites Greg and always good of you can keep it original. Two tone brown interior is a must!

I reckon the Capricorn Coral will suit the car nicely. Not too many vehicles running around in that colour, so it wont be a bellybutton car. The colour should age well too, unlike some of the modern colours (I wonder how many maroon or tiger mica cars from the 90's will get resprayed).

Cheers,

Thanks for the comments guys,

I am getting really keen to throw on the colour but prep is the key and is realistically 80% of the paint job so patience is called for.

Hours of fun rubbing and blocking

I’m looking forward to seeing this on Saturday Greg. Are you applying the top coats/colour yourself?

Yes Joe,

I'm going to have a crack tomorrow !

The fun jobs of late have been drip chek sealer bastard of a job !, rubbing back and repriming the roof 3 times to get it as straight as possible and started the roof install of dynamat lite while the paint was drying, so to speak !

Well finally there is light at the end of the tunnel !

Colour at last or is it a shade !!

Got a couple of solvent pops, my fault laid the paint on to thick and I can see some scratch marks from sanding so I stopped and will rub the basecoat back tomorrow and try again. Its bloody nerve wrecking and frustrating but Its just got to be done !!!
