thanks devilrod ,you know ! Every time i discuss color combinations and trim color and designs with my girl ,she just keeps describing your car
As a matter of fact she despises orange ,and gold is very close to that .

Nice work, Harko.
What with you 'n' Ratbox's dash designs, I've had to re-think mine (again

!!) I think a 283 will be a winner too!
Scotty.

it's hard to bait me with my work as i usually take the easy way out (if there is such a thing with custom work) so can always be improved on

Cool!

I was really lucky I think, it all seemed to work really well in the end.
Choosing the right colours are a make or break part of any project. Good luck! The right shade of gold should be fine. Aim for more yellow and you should be safe (well in staying away from orange).

Harko wrote:Its a body swap . Just like a commodore on a 4wd chassis .
The roof chop goes under the roof chop requirements as you know .
and the big block under the power to weight ratio .
Jas if you can weld its fairly basic , Have a lay under the car and have a think then ask any questions you want.
Years ago I did several cars like this, with no problems
Reciently I went through all the engineering and mods to do a very similar build to suit a NSW registered car, it kept being listed as an ICV.
Spoke to four different engineers and they all gave me the same answer.
But if you can get yours registered like this, go for it.

This doesnt go anywhere neare fitting

Will probably fad the engine mount blocks on the weekend and mod the firewall .
and it doesnt drop as much as expected either
And heres what I was blabbing on about with the headlight area moved to correct the flow , The left headlight flows back evenly , the right headlight is original and you can see it curves as it flows back
Also that small cut allows the peak along the top of the guard to become closer to square

yors is better than this one but here's one i prepaired earlier

Rat,
I can't see why! if you went to that much trouble smoothing your dash, why didn't you fit the radio in the middle..............................
Just a question.........Not a debate

Guys,
To make the chev fit nice and low you need to recess the HR front end.
The firewall drivers side neeeds to be pushed back slightly as well.
Stick with the chev Harko

Firewall on the Black Beasty was not set back other than the folded joint (firewall to floorpan) was flushed off and welded..... the centre was actually moved forward 40mm to fit the A/C unit..... I still have room for the ignition leads behind the heads.
Go the CHEVY Harko!!!
