So , The question for today is , are people born stupid or does it just happen with age
Plan for this weekend was to finish off all the litle bits needed to get the car movable , put in new tailshaft , speedo cable , fill the diff with oil , blah , blah , blah .
Well got all those bits done and got it down off the stands and decided that I would take it for a spin up the driveway and back , 500m up and 500m back , what can go wrong , right
Still havent fitted the pedal brakes (stupid No1) , but the handbrake works good
(stupid No2) , got to the top of the driveway and everything looks good , gearbox a bit low on fluid , but I will fix that when I get back to the shed , steering feels good , no other alarming noises
.
Turn her around and head back for the shed , 300 m of flat and then downhill to a 90deg bend ,just idleing along , get to the end of the flat and pull the handbrake on , hmmm not slowing down much , chuck her into neutral , still not slowing down , bloody hell I think , if she keeps picking up speed I wont make the bend at the bottom , so I decide to ditch off into a small clearing at the side of the drive , bit tight but should be ok , safer than bend.
Damn would of made it too , if the bloody steering wheel didnt come off in my hand (stupid No 4 and stupid look I bet you too), only going slowly up the driveway and back what do you need the steering nut for (stupid No3).
Well here is a pic my son took for me at the end of the straight as I was enjoying my first trip out

And heres the pic I took after my first, drowning my sorry beer.
And this was after I kicked it back in so the wheel would turn

Guess painted by the end of the month has gone out the window , and a few more beers too
Bloody crimp I put on the handbrake cable slipped , the more I pulled on it , the more it slipped , was pulling pretty bloody hard at the end
Bit hard to tell the damage in the pic , but it has put a nasty crease up the centre of the guard , and pushed it back onto the door and dented all the leading edge of that too
