Yes you are right I had an issue with rotors as you say, this was before I did the VT twin piston caliper conversion, I was running VP calipers and standard rotors, when I bought the drop spindles I had that issue of not enough contact area, when I did some checking I found that the Calais had a slightly larger diameter rotor to standard so I changed to them and it sorted it out, when I rand CRS to find out what was going on they had no idea
I run 16" commodore rims as you know and found that I had to run HR steering arms but I also needed to rebend them slightly inwards to get enough clearance.
My rims/tyres are 195x50x16 front
205x50x16 rear

Thanks Neil forthe refresh on the disc size. It seems the V6 were 270 mm and the V8 were 290mm.
All sorted with front brakes other than the steering arms.

The 16" rim fits and looks ok on the front.
I had another look on the rear and the diff will need to up a long way to sink the tyres into the wheel arch, where they look good.
So far only one tyre dealer has responded to my queries and his select rim is not what I want.

The build will go on hold until next month as I'm driving to Perth this Thursday. My old man is not going so well.

I have changed the front indicator to Morris Minor.
Nice glass and smaller. Also ordered the wheels
15" x 7 for the front and 17" x 7 for the rear.
Hope to see these in a couple of weeks so I can cut up the diff. Cheers,

I purchase these from Rod Tech from the VN diff. Gledge suggested these as they are far superior than the factory ones.
With the jig from Gledge, all should line up and be perfect.

FB ute fixer upper, EK van on rotisserie

I can't reveal all the mods to the ute before unveiling it.

Well the wheel have arrived so now I need to narrow the VN diff.

I should have jumped on it quickly before I had time to think about tyres.
I have now decided to go with 17 x 235 wide tyres on the rear so hence the drive to Clay's for some a quick " mini tubbing meeting".
I was fairly sure I had worked out where to cut but seeing someone else's, just confirmed it.
Started on the hard side due to the fuel filler.

No turning back now. Now need to cut a strip and weld in the tub Prenty much a full days work to get it to this stage. RH side will be easier.
Oh, the hand hack saw is only for show as a 4" and 9" angle grinder does the job.
