Don't need another blue ute on the road. Common as
Ammo said no green or shade of green.
Maybe this colour

Peter Mallaby on the FE/FC Forum and Facebook does a 2 speed kit for FE/FCs inc new motor and all the bits, should suit FB/EK or at least be easily adapted.

Basically a BF Frod motor on ek mount plate, ek crank and after market switch. Pete machines up his plates and cranks but if you have a fused ek motor you can use the bits. The switch is the trick item and costs the same as the motor. The electrickery is different to ek and also has a push squirter function.

Keep thinking on the colour roger. My 2c... you're right about the blue ones though. Did Lenny put Ammo off green?

After mucking around trying to adapt a single speed EK wiper to a 2 speed with a step up transformer (12V-15V), I ended up getting one from Pete. It comes with a diagram of how to wire it and the switch up which is a great help. Only grumble is the switch knob makes it look a bit cheap. Will work out a way to adapt a knob from a stock washer switch when I can find one.
Step up transformer will go into the warmaride fan to boost the high speed, so not a lost cause.

Still undecided on the wiper motor but there is heaps of space on the left side of the glove box to play with.

Purchased a LJ Torana diff this morning. Just need to cut off the unwanted mounts and weld on spring saddles.
I'm hoping the brakes are a straight swap over as this one is lacking everthing.

Don't think I will have an issue with the 2.78 ratio as the motor is a blue 202.
Diff came out of Torana with a big block 161.

Cheers,
Roger

Straight swap to EJ HR brakes with a bit of pipe relocation. Tall diff will be good on the run to Perth. Don't go too tall on your back tyres. Be good with the auto.

The diff breather is tucked under one of those top mounts mate, careful you don't bugger it up when blasting the mounts off - ask me how I know

I did see the breather inside of top- mount so I was carefully cutting, Blacky.
The guy who welded these mounts one way back, was either good backhand or forehand as the welds were very different from the left to the right.
Maybe 2 guys did the welding of the brackets.

As the ute is for Ammo, I'm sure the diff ration will slow her down a little off the line but cruise well.
Clay - thanks for the confirmation on the brakes. The brake lines have yet to be finished off so easy to change now.

Tomorrow is cleanup diff, paint if the weather holds and put out the current diff and remove the brakes.
I have a plan.

Cheers,
Roger

I need to order a couple of spring pads to weld to the diff housing as I do not want to cut them off a good diff.
I was going to make these from 65 x 4 or 5 mm RHS but cheaper to grab a couple from Kustom Blitz in Melbourne.

I'm putting on new bearing as one seems to be very tight. No workshop press so using a mechanic down the road.
More progress next week. maybe.
Cheers,
Roger

I made mine , and made them an inch deeper than stock to lower the ute
