So after putting up with the fuel delivery system shitting it's self every so often
I bit the bullet and had the lot dismantled and cleaned to find out what the problem was...
Milkshake would run great until the fuel level dropped to a certain level then play up, somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 full...
So all the lines were cleaned and the compressor pumped up and the gun stuck in the pipe and blow!
She was pumping until I though my fuel tank was going to explode...
THUMP...Something let go and a tube of fuel spat out the inlet at the back!...
So you can see by the pics what we found, a garden lizard had somehow got into the tank?
Looks like it was floating in the tank until the contents reached that level were the pickup tube sucked it in..
The tank was clean when we put it in so only god knows....
And before the peanuts ask, yes it was dead.......

My auxiliary tank on the land cruiser had the same problem, back in the seventies.in this case it was a sharp stick though. It would float around until about 1/4 tank and then get sucked into the outlet pipe. I put up with it for about 12 months before I found it. If you had told me the symptoms, I probably wouldn't have remembered though.

Reminds me of a lesson I taught myself recently. Not to use RTV (or any other silastic style sealant) when installing tour fuel sender. A cork gasket is just fine.

You can't claim copyright on a picture taken at a show and he's fixed it I believe.
