Back on the wagon rebuild. :D :D

Getting the body ready is taking a lot longer than expected.
Mostly getting rid on small dents that I keep finding.
I think I have them all now, but I've only done the frame.
Still need to do the doors, guards, bonnet and tailgate panels.
Sand, check, hammer, fill and repeat.
Over and over and over again.

Also thought I'd throw up a pic of the front windscreen area that I have been working on.
Cut most of it out, Rust..............
Welded in new sections but didn't make them exactly to shape.
So have been molding the area with fiberglass and fiber filler to get the right shape.
Almost right, just need to do final checks.

Was hoping to get undercoat over the rest of the body today.

Still going with body preparation.  :( :(
So many little things to get right.

Thanks Tim, I hadn't even filed the filler back in the previous photo. Have now done the final preparation for the front window sections.

Also started to clean up the rear bumper bar. :D
Will do the rest during breaks, waiting for something to dry or set. :(
A bit of pitting on these, but they will be OK.

hold up...
I have a question irrelevant to your last update:

Is this a resto I'm watching or a mild custom?

Now you may proceed with more updates :D

J it's good to see that your still getting out and partying on a Saturday night. :D :D
What the ???? Image

Still working on the rebuild / resto /custom /strip down....

Each time I think I'm ready, I find something else.
All the dash removed, so can undercoat the whole lot in one go.
Took a while to get some off, and then back behind the dash so it can be started and driven.

Similar to original ??????? 8) 8) 8)
But I feel it will change slightly.
It will start as Black with a white roof, then the final colours will get added over the top.
Still haven't actually picked them out yet...

Dusk Plum with Cameo Beige roof was the original.
Come to think of it, I haven't actually seem that colour combo before ?
I wonder it anyone has a pic of a car with it ??? :? :?

Thanks Deryck.

That is so similar to what I was actually thinking of. :D :D

Can't see the roof all that well, however I was thinking of Silver or Titanium. Similar effect I think. :? :?

Does look good.
Is that the original colour showing on your dash where you removed all the stuff?

Your number plate is a little twisted. Must have hit one of those parking bumps.

Come on Its not that hard of a question!

Is the wagon going to be sky high with all the original pieces etc?

Or are you going to get rid of some doorhandles and have it lowered with a nice loud exhaust?

Must be a generation gap thing.
I thought "Sky High" was a drug thing. Anyhow..................

I want to keep it semi classic, but with some mod cons, Alarm, Central locking, etc.
Agree with what Tim says about poppers, not for me anyhow.
Yes i will still have door handles, they are classic and CHROME.
Can't get enough CHROME.. 8) 8) 8) 8)

In the meantime.
Sand, check, fill, paint........ Sand, check, fill, paint..........
