I got lazy, and took option d./ for the wagon:

d./ recognise you can't weld. Cut the ends off with an angle grinder and leave the swage ends missing. Paint it black so no-one notices

Cheers,
Harv

Option “E” for me -
You CAN weld, but you can’t be bothered ImageImage

Yeah Blacky, it's time that you got out there and made a mess. Show us how it's done🤗.

I took option E

Cut the width, then welded in some folded c channel.

The radiator frame slides into it, very strong and a self tapper holds it in.

It cant move side to side or up and down because of the top support, looks good to !!

Think I'm done with this. Needs paint, but I've gone over it with deoxidine and sealed it for now with easyphos so should be good for at least 6 months stored dry. Just got to find somewhere to hang it up. Look forward to having a bit more room to move.

Front had a few holes to fill, but apart from that it was just a bit (lot) of time on the wire wheel, powerfile, and die grinder.

Inside just needed a tidy up where I opened up the front for the radiator. Bit of surface rust where the sides join the front, ground out as best as I could, wire wheel, then poured some Ranex in there to reveal what I had polished up and not removed. More grinding, wire wheel. Done.

Hi Scott, I've got some bits that could do with a clean up like that. When's a good time to drop them 'round?😁 Wow!!!

I reckon you should just spray some clear on that. Love the rusty patina! Shiny is overrated.

The best I could do hanging it up. Clears my head. Just. Image

Might have to find a new home for the sub frame, hit my head for the third time today. AirPod fell on the ground too and picked up a bunch of metal. Good clean up before I shove that back in my ear. Pretty average day really. Not much work got done. Lots of thinking. Image

We all have days like that unfortunately - might need the compressor fired up to clean that earbud !!

Yeah Blacky, compressor then lens cleaning fluid and a soft rag followed by a check under the desktop magnifier.
Using a die grinder leave sharp little splinters of metal everywhere, and most end up in my fingers. Have a sewing needle and tweezers hung up in the shed to extract the little bastards.
Would not want one of those in my ear

Yeah those die grinder shards are like tiny needles, and they seem to find their way into all sorts of places you would rather they didn't
