We have tried the "Name brands" and we always seem to get better results with the "Home brand" styles probably come out of the same factory anyway regardless of which one you use these are little legends, it is hard to believe that such a simple item can do such a bloody good job.

is there anything to the stainless steel one being better than normal ones that you know of

I have always had good results with other cleaners / polishers but I am keen as mustard to try some of this stuff!

i know what they do, do and that's leave little steelwool splinters in yor fingers

No Mick, but Stainless on stainless will bind and scratch (if not well lubricated) as the material strength is the same, non-stainless steel wool pads are softer than stainless so should reduce the risk of scratching

They also work great on 40 year old Tasmans as well!

I've never noticed any scratching, although I normally use a normal chrome or silver polish at the end.
It just adds that last bit of shine and puts a cover over the end product.

And as for splinters, yes Ratbox.
If I wear them down too much I end up getting something to spike me finger tip.
Can never find it, but always seems to be something in them that hurts.
But then again I use them until they are almost completed gone.


I guess at $2 a box I'm trying to save money
