It will need to be a hefty spring.

Spring tensioners are normally used with timing belts ("gilmer belts") where the faces of the belt teeth provide grip. For vee belts, you rely on friction alone... and hence need more tension.

Yep - no way to may it work anyway - so with the improved rigidity belt plus improved rigidity tensioner arm plus a slotted pulley Fred will turn up it should be ok Image

Looking at the choke connection to carb the stock cable i had which was a rares one I think is about 6 inches too short and looks about same as the nos one I have - any suggestions on one thats a bit longer or do I go the bike cable outer and solder on a longer core?

Tru trac is in - still waiting on the final blower tensioner arm and i have to finish the throttle linkage then it’s clutch droppin time

I fly home next Friday into a 2 week lockdown at home , hoping to get some progress on the red rattler done while i am not allowed to leave the house .
