a bloke i know put an inj 5L and 5 speed in his HK he made a bracket to fit an EK slave on the opposite side of the fork and push the cable fork, and then yesterday talking to another mate that put a hydraulic set up clutch/bellhousing in a VH commodore and he made a bracket and got a longer cable to pull it back
all just useless information

A small wheel cylinder hone? I've used one with success on sector shaft bushes in a Humpy steering box. The two-stone hones will go down to about 15 mm diameter, I think.

All sorted, borrowed a tool off a mate and machined it out , also fitted a new chuck on the lathe which I have been meaning to do for about a year . Its soaking in oil tonight , will bang it in the freezer tomorrow morning and refit it tomorrow night. Also made a start on the gearbox crossmember

Refitted the spigot bush and gearbox tonight, then got sidetracked with an idea I had today , I am running a front mounted rack and the steering shaft wants to be exactly where the external pickup is for the oil pump. I thought that rather than bring the oil line in the front cover of the pump why not bring it in the side of the pump out of the way of the oil line ? I had no idea if it would work so I grabbed an old pump and had a go. Here is the problem-
Want to lose the intake fitting from there and bring it in the body at the forward part of the pump.
I stripped the pump and bored a hole in it -

Then went hunting and found a tap much to my surprise
Tapped it out and it seems like it is going to be a winner

Now I will strip the new pump and try it on that

Nice work Blacky,
So I am assuming you have a fitting welded into the sump down low for the oil pick up ?

Yeah mate, it has a girdle on the main cap studs so the stock pickup doesn't fit, used to build my speedway engines with the same setup. I am using a stock style sump so the pickup fitting isnt as low as I would like it due to the curvature of the sump so I might run an accumulator as well just to be safe.

The red motors when pushed hard tend to have the oil sit up high in the rocker covers and lean the sump of oil. You can use different style lifters with the hole higher up to reduce the flow to the top end and I have also fitted a drain from the back of the rocker cover to the sump to promote the return. I also used 10 litres of oil in the engine and never had a problem with bearing failure after that.

in 2 minds there - as Greg mentioned, red motors have a habit of pumping all the oil to the top of the donk when pushed , a high volume pump is not always a good thing. On the other hand it is only a street motor .........
