Malcolm
It has been interesting following your build.
Now you are at the part that I think is possibly the most enjoyable, apart from driving it.
Seeing all the bits transformed into painted pieces that make to job come to life, and others can see the vision you have had in colour in your head.
Assembly is another thing!
Looking foward to seeing the future updates

Sammy,
I'm at the stage now where I can't wait until its painted as when its done it should go back together reasonably quickly.
The bloke doing the certification is someone that I've know for years. I told him what I wanted to do, he told me how to go about it and to give him a call when its finished and he'll look at it.

only reason i ask is that i would hate to see it go back together and need to have something modified that requires new paint being re-done etc ...
that is why i want to get mine to a registerable stage, get it certified then go back and pull it appart and paint etc.

Yep sure did, I used the American Brand Dolphin. Very easy to fit.
I think there' s a picture some where in the last 10 or so pages of them set up in the doors.
Just checked, there's a picture on page 9.

Well, slowly getting there. Have got the L/H rear door, quater and firewall finished with just the roof and the front L/H door to go, then its priming/puttying time.
Unfortunately i've saved the worst door for last as it needs a shitload of work doing on it.
I've got this aweful thought in the back of my mind that it may not be finished for June 08 but I will be giving it my best.
Just a photo of the firewall done and ready for putty.

Hi all, just a quick update on the old girl.
Things have been a bit quiet in the shed over xmas due to the death
of my step dad on xmas eve.
But life must go on!
Finally all the body work is finished and its time to start puttying ready
for paint.
(And yes a colour has been chosen and its final)
As suspected the last door was the biggest pain in the ass with a
new lower section being needed, the door needing to be lengthened
due to removing the center pillar filler panel and the top window edge
due to fitting of full length front windows.

And finally the roof, it had been sandblasted but as I myself didn't
etch prime the car after blasting, I have stripped most of the etch off
just to make sure there's nothing underneath that shouldn't be there.

I consider myself pretty lucky to start with a body that was in such
good shape to start with.
Cheers all.

Mal, Your've done a great job in those door gaps, My body is pretty average in that department, and I think it depends on where the body was made. I have seen a lot of Sydney built ones and the gaps are shocking. My rear doors on the dogleg section near touch the doglegs themselves, and noticed yours are quite large, with good clearance at the front of the rear door frame. So as you said you must of picked up a pretty good body to start with.

Mal, sorry to hear about the step dad, and christmas eve, it couldn't really have come at a worse time!
i like the look of the lengthened doors to remove the centre piece and then i thought about it for a bit and remembered that utes don't have that problem, so thats one less thing i have to worry about!!
