The Hankooks looked so much better than the Simitomo's we have now. (We were told that Hankook whitewalls are no more.......sadly find out this is not the case).... The tyres look average, they have done only 3,000ks and the white walls are browning. I have just ordered antique whitewall cleaner from Antique tyres, fingers crossed that it saves me from too much grief.

The cheapest and most effective whitewall cleaner I've been using is the export brand degreaser in an aerosol can. Have used nothing but for the last twenty years. Spray on before you wash the car, then let sit while you get the hose sorted, then rinse off. Then wash the tyres with car wash and sponge while doing the rest of the car. Can't go wrong.

If they are discoloured use a scourer to clean up till they are white.

And I swear by Hankooks too!

Sadly we are "stuck with them" for a while. A lot of money to waste so will hopefully get some good mileage out of them before we have to / or will replace. Sure won't get the 100,000ks we got out of the Hankooks.
I tried everything I could think of (scourers, jiff, prepsol etc) not much working, was a tiny improvement. A friend who builds and runs hot rods here with whitewalls put me on to antique tyres and their cleaner. Stay tuned!!!
Just wanting them to look somewhere near decent for Tassie

I've been using the degreaser on my firestones on the roadster fr as long as I've had it. I also found a fine sandpaper and water will get out scuff marks and brings the white back.

Filler pipe is still a work in progress, once all lines are done ill pull it out and do the modification needed, but im using commodore filler pipe with the old holden lip on top, so i have over flow, try to prevent the usual spill i get with my blue wagon

Engine bay is beautifully understated Bumpar. Love the radiator. Look forward to see how you handle top hose and air intake.
