Thought of this thread yesterday when the missus told me this.

The missus went down to the stables where we have our horse agisted last night to feed up etc and got talking to a bloke down there named Colin, Top bloke who looks like a 70's rocker because of his shoulder length grey hair and mostly wears a denim jacket. They got talking about cars as he is a fan and asked about our cars and what we have, Michelle listed them all and finished with "and the FB" he has seen this car only once and it was a while ago. "Oh yeah, that's right I forgot about that car" he then went on to tell the wife how hid son has just moved out to Loxton S.A and was out driving when he spotted a old car in a farmers paddock, naturally curios he stopped and enquired about it. He got talking to the farmer and struck a deal, turns out the car is an EK and in pretty good condition. It has a few rust spots and is missing both front guards and a door but has no structual rust, Y frames are apparently very good. The best bit is the farmer didn't want it to seize up so he would regularly go out, start it up and drive it around the paddock just to keep everything moving. The motor from what I hear runs like swiss watch.

And the price.....

$350  . And no this is not a joke, I almost wish it was as I am spewing I didn't get onto it.

The new owner plans to get it back on the road and enjoy it. Now that's a lucky bastard. I should see Colin this week so I'll bail him up about it!

O.k spoke to Colin last night. Story was pretty much the same except the misus misunderstood when he said it needs a couple of guards and a door. The car is all complete but these on his are rusted out. I explained to him that these are getting too rare just to throw away and get new ones and he may be better off fixing what he's got. Engine does run but is a little smokey. Told him if he wants to sell it to let me know, he said he will tell him but is pretty sure he will keep it, you never know!
