Hahaha unfortunately the EJ is far from a donor Wayne !! Ill bring it along to the next club meeting incase ya miss it, not sure what time im turning up and which day (depends on work and when ive got an opening but ill definetly be their at some stage).
Missus will be using the EJ as her daily driver for work, which I think is pretty classy considering shes a business chick.
Always loved the EJ's over the EH's due to the wide finned arse ends and the stylish bonnet.
She aint green Mick, white sedan with a SBC , auto and 9inch. Pretty stock motor but still zoomy with the light weight, very few blind spots in it which is what the missus likes most. She can see easily over the bonnet to each front corner and the rear corner fins easily seen thru the back window/revision mirror.
Going to pick-up a front set of vintique wheels 15x5 bare smoothies tomorrow ... will size them up for the panelvan extractor clearance and then throw em on the EJ. Get the EJ up on the hoist and see if I can squeeze 15x7s up back with the original tubs, then check the same size vs the original tubs in the EK van. Hopefully get away with the same size rims on both cars 15x5 and 15x7 for flexibility. One set white powder coat , the other in a maroon.
The red sedan still isnt finished ....... unfortunately, its currently in the metal fabricators ... im raising the boot to lift the tank (sits too low for my liking), also putting a hump under the back seat as the 9inch yoke area is hitting the floor when the boots applied.
Then its going in for panelwork and respray ... not happy with the paint but sticking to the same colour. The guards/wheel arches will be modified (enlarged/reshaped) during this time to give more clearance up front to drop it lower, and more room for sway in the rear.
The panelvan goes in for light paint next week, holes filled in the bay and katherine beige ( original colour) sprayed in the cabin and bay for the 8 to drop in. Ive freshed the 6x2 set-up and looking forward to throwing it in the van !!! Once the motor is in and the van is driveable, the outside will be sprayed and the donor rear quaters with the original lights will be grafted back in.
Alots been happening the last few weeks, cars - work , work and cars ! Been hectic but looking forward to the show !! Its also good to be back behind the wheel of an old holden even if its an EJ !
