Speeking for the people who run these events, the insurance you have to pay is out of control, and thats for a car show with stationary cars, if they new people were driving and someone got hurt would you pay the costs in court, because the insurance company wouldn't.
I don't think it's too much to ask for people to read the fine print and stay until the end, Trev

Hey guys I had a great time at the AHD, was the first time Ive been to one, even thou ive owned an EK for 12 years.
Was great to meet alot of the forum members ( Ratbox, matty , retro, Ek9893 and Par62) , Smooth I didnt manage to meet up with you mate , but granted I turned up around midday ( slept in saturday night and caught 14 hours of sleep hahahaha, needed to catch up thou from the week) hopefully I can catch up at the next meet and see Frank. Steve I saw your perfect Panelvan also mate but couldnt see the owner anywhere !!! Hopefully next time mate it was good to see what one was ment to look like out of factory !!
Par62 thanks for the great shots mate, there was some bloody nice cars there !!! I cut and zagged thru the place that many times I forgot where I had already been.
Anyone manage to snap up some shots of the EK sedan with the injected 8? I noticed there was no master cylinder on the firewall and it had custom bonet hinges. Finally got to see EKV862 in person also !! that car has been an inspiration for me since I first saw it in a magazine after purchasing my Sedan.
Cant wait for the next meet and hopefully get to meet more of you all in person !!!

yes as smooth said the cost being $45 and something like 750 entries something's going on, when you look at shows such as summernats with driving and lots of bone heads and the entry only being a little over double for 4 days
i was only realy making a comment on the way they carried on more than anything
bad communication

hey trev...
mate i was just disapointed in the position i found myself in... i understand that their insurance doesnt cover moving cars, i just thought if they communicated a bit better i would have taken it on the chin... but they went to so much trouble to put on what was a great day, lots of cars, things for the kids, food (i think that what they called it)... all they needed was a clear sign & verbally warned about thel ock down times...
but it just gave me the impression that they just wanted my money, which hurt a bit
750 cars @ 45 each... WOW... $ 33, 750.00 (just from entrys)...
hey parisian & steve noice pics...

Thanks Mattymartin.
Let's try to get enough display space to put all the FB-EK's together next year, so we are not all scattered. It will give us more time to chat..... it took so long to get around to every FB-EK!

I think the guys doing the Vic show have the right idea, they park all the same models together. Makes it easier.
As for the cost of shows, venue hire and public liabilty are a killer! Something we all forget about. Maybe look at running your own show and you'll soon realise why the costs are what they are. Sponsor dollars don't go that far and if the weather is bad and nobody shows..... who pays then?
Was there a goody bag? The Easternats here in Melbourne are nearly the same as the Summernats BUT you don't get anything other than a commerative number plate

Hi Smooth, in the earlier AHD's (I am sure you remember) all the models parked together, no matter what club you were in.
The clubs parking together (I Gather) is just another way to raise revenue, as I believe the clubs pay for a block of space to group their cars in addition to single entries.
I hear what you are saying Smooth, individual clubs that have FB-EK owners as members are promoting/displaying their own club cars.
I just believe for presenting the cars to the public the cars should be organized in year categories as it looks so messy. At times it looked like the car park.
BTW, we would love to have a few more on the site be part of our club ..... You are all more than welcome!
