Got a quote yesterday from Austec Dry Stripping at Chipping Norton for around $4000 to blast the lot. :shock:
He wants to include the running gear as well, said it would be cheaper that way. :roll:
Anyone got any thoughts on this... :)

Today we started tearing the FB apart for blasting in the new year.
Saved as many bolts and nuts as we could, bugger of a job.
You can follow the pics. :)

Check out the rusted bolt holding the front bumper on!

Removed the drivers side and the passenger side just fell off!

Aaah the joy of pulling apart an old car. Lots of hidden surprises. But it is fun :mrgreen: and you're making good progress.

Great work tehre mate. What a joy it will be to have this old girl cruising down the road in style again!

At least it has not been buggered around with by people with weird re-wiring & the like.

Wayne.

If you are needing to get the wheel cylinders re-sleeved, which is a very good idea anyway as most are rooted or on their way out, we used a top bloke in Lidcombe who doesn't rip you off. He charged $55 per cylinder which comprised of machining and stainless sleeving, zinc plating of the cylinder body and all associated parts including adjusters and re-kitted (just refit them) - Peter at Automotive Brake Reconditioning 97484944. Bebco 96442888 for new hoses.

Easy.

Spread the word...50s and 60s sing-a-long at Waynes place this Saturday night...!

Tear down is coming along well. Just keep bagging and tagging and taking heaps of pics. Detail ones too for future reference.

And we have the steel for the trolley
Had to wait for some specialized tools to arrive as well.
