Hey FB, It clears the top hinge OK by around 10 to 15mm.

Yeah 1/4 windows are perfect for that, but mine were stuffed, rusted and the glass was cracked in both the lower corners were the flapper is.
....Now the inside of the brake lense housing thingy, i bet you agonised with that, where to cut in the other colour. Just wondering if the inside should be half and half to follow the inside line of the indicator???

Far out I had absolutley no idea what I was going to do there, I had completly stuffed rear tailight surrounds that when I took them to the chromers at Enware in Sydney he said they had been redone before and the second treatment would eat into the diecast to much, so I decided to paint them, I did it this way 1st to see how they turn out. At least now when I get bored I will be able to paint them a different way.

what rim and tyre combination is it? are they flappers or whitewalls?
There Stock 15''x 6'' VS Commodore rims with Stainless lip moonies and portawalls from Johns Rod and Custom.
how about some inside pics too ..

The car is gorgeous. Did you find where you posted the interior photos. From the glimpse of the interior in the ohter photos, that looks great too.
What type of bucket seats did you use and was there much work in fitting them?

OMFG What an awesome job , nice touches that smooth it right out , The body looks so tight and the bodylines are gunbarrel straight , .
Absoloutely beutifull workmanship .
Now is aboiut the time to recall when you were sitting in the shed saying to yourself "Is this realy worth it ?"
I love it.

Had a surprise visit from John, this morning... surprise 'cos we hadn't actually met before, and he got em out of building a godawful new entertainment unit for a half hour or so...
This is one beautiful car and a credit to John for all the thought that went into not only the mechanical upgrades, but the body changes that may not be noticable to some if not pointed out.
Thanks for the spin John, be sure to let me know whenever you're in town, I'm always up for a ride!

Thanx for the compliment Lynchpin.
I had posted interior pics on the site a while ago and since have lost them even on my hard drive (can't explain what went wrong there)
The Seats are Toyota Corolla AE82 Buckets, I removed the head rests and lowered the top seat frame so it would be the same height as the top door openings, as I changed the whole floor I fabricated seat frame mounts for the seats to fit.

The interior is as nice as the outside. What a great job you have done.
Showed a mate this website last night and he wouldn't leave the pictures of your car. He was planning a very late night on the whole site. Another convert i would say.

Congrats on the build John, it was great to see in the flesh.Lots of great ideas and new ways to tackle old problems, not to mention quality build.
How did you go with the demister vent?

She looks fantastic and no doubt you will be driving the wheels off of it but please can you do something for me? The earth cable on your battery can you also run it up to your engine. It might cost a bit but it will help you out later when gremlins start to appear.

Earth Strap Engine to Body - Earth Strap Battery to Body. No need for a long cable the car is made of metal! Might make a difference on a Hyundai...
