Andrew.

If you want to clean the cabling the neat way, is only to hidden wire it,
But to save a lot of heart ache you can just run your existing wires through convo tube wich will tidy things up a great deal in the engine bay. This can purchased through any Repco, Autopro or Supercheap Auto, the convoluted tubing comes in various sizes for what ever your application.

(AUST)Mod wrote:thanks john, i will move the cooler. iam a pretty avid computer modder, and run a watercooled computer, so i have access to 12v high flow fans. i think i will leave the cooler in a similar position, but with a 108cfm fan behind it controlled by a switch/ ignition. would this help? thanks andrew

Great Idea, Now your thinking

the car is currently in olden holden welshpool getting the new 3.08 lc/lj toraana diff and brakes. it is also being lowered while its in there, so it sits in the weeds. my dad has ordered crs drop spindles for the front, but iam not quite sure what they are, they are the only holdup atm. with any luck, i will be back cruising anytime soon, pulling more chicks at school in the carpark than the commodore and non turbo skyline mob:)

Just a word of warning with dropped stubs. You may need to run a slightly heavier spring.

What the dropped stub does is position the wheel (disc & brake assembly) higher without changing the springs, therefore lowering the car. This then creates another problem of suspension bottoming out and things hitting that never did before.

Case in point, my brothers Customline ran 4 inch dropped stubs. Hit a big enough bump and the front wheels would jam up in the top of the inner gaurd    Not fun, especially cornering!!!

i had the same problem with my '64 ss impala had to cut a section out of the inner guards, over bumps and not even bad ones in a straight line wheels would grab the inner guards and yank the wheel out of yor hand
but i've had them on a couple of FB/EK's and the worst problem i've had is guard clearance on turning, but i've only been running HK wheels so they are only skinny with little offset so wider wheels may pose a problem, also with lowered springs + dropstubs front cross member hits the ground before bump stops make contact also have had idler arm hit the ground and get ripped off  that was fun
the joys of owning a car with it's belly scraping the ground

Man O Man, I've seen a few vehicles like you just mentioned, absolutely that low, that on the speed humps the idler and pitman arms are bent that bad they touch the rails and they have reduced the turning to circle to only 1-1/2 turns to lock to lock. But the scary thing is the same cars are still being driven as I speak, with no repairs to rectify. I cringe with fear every time I see them on the road or if they drive past me on the other side of the road.

Blacky,

I thinks its also known as A Classic Holden.

its a wreckers yard that does fitting work as well, such as rack & pinions, HR front ends that sort of thing (haven't been in a while) of memory its Hantke Place (number ? - you cants miss it though) not far from Perth Brake Parts,

Where i seen murrays (cruizin) old EK that was at the National Day Cruise, the guys there have a few different holdens, an FJ ute with a 149 off memory, an FC was beeing worked on last time i was in, but the craziest thing i saw there was a baby blue FB/EK Wagon with a Celica/Supra 5 speed mounted on the column - he said he would never do it again!!!! look very orginal in the interior but was running the red in front of it!

Cheers

Crazy but freakin' awesome! That would be good to see. Some serious engineering required for that....but well worth it purely on the sleeper stakes...

Easy, just use the linkages and brackets from a Toyota Hiace van with the 5 speed coloum shift assy.
Maybe not that easy, might have to chop and bend a bit, but it will work.
