The front height is now a bit less than an inch higher but not on the bumpstops any more.. YAY ..sorry 'J' but it HAD to be done. The old springs must have been cut 'stockers' & they were the most 'lifeless' pair of springs I've ever come across. I now has a slightly cut set of Lovell's heavy duty spring in it now & the ride back was superb 8) :D .
Must be that time of year Scotty, stance still looks great. I've just finished lifting the rear enough to get it off the bumpstops, front could benefit from the same

Thanks you blokes..does a fella good to get some feed back from his peers. :D
Ed..you're got a LOOOONG list of reading to do on builds in this forum! Garry's is a ripper, Harko's is amazing, Jason's is plain wild! And many many more all different but all brilliant! I'm enjoying Mini's roof chop...wish I had the gut's (and the $'s)to attempt a roof chop.
EKKOOL.. I love the work on that machine of your's especially the Gold tooth..just finished off the whole build.
DR.. I hear where you're coming from..a little suspension goes a long way for ride comfort.
Mick..I'll be installing my Smiths heater before I drive up North next month..I'm not that young anymore myself!
Trev..thanks for backing me up Mate..8)
J..you must be talkin' about my Triton?
Mick Jagger..my small amount of customizing is nothing to the amount you're putting into that wild item of yours! 8)
Aust(MOD)..thanks for the Kudos
Gaz..a big thanx to Garry "two cars" Jackson...er..Quinn
..and to all the other not mentioned here (my typing fingers are gettin' tired!!) THANKS :D

Scotty.

G'day all,
Finally got the EK started 'n' running like a clock.. :D :D 8) 8)
About a month ago (my.. where does time go?) I was driving the EK home from getting it rego'ed for another year, when I decided to drive past my turn off to home and keep going and pay my rent at the local Real Estate. As I headed off the highway and up Bawley Point rd the car gave a cough 'n' splutter and stopped? Thinking it must be something stupid I pulled over, opened the bonnet and had a fiddle with the obvious things that go wrong, Fuel?..nope..got heaps spraying in the carby...Spark..er...spark...SPARK??? No spark! Check points..they're opening but bugger all spark in 'em.
Realizing I could'nt do much where it was I decided to walk home and ring a mate to come over after he knocks off and help me tow the old girl up the road to home where I can fix it in comfort.
Once home we realized it was either the coil or condenser. Next day I changed the coil and found that it was not that...so condenser looked to be the culprit. Off to town to get one. Looks like it would be easier to order hen's teeth than a condenser to fit a grey!! I finally tracked down a spare parts shop that said they could order one in ..but it'd take two weeks! :x (it's like this when you live in a country town)
Around this time I thought maybe I should go electronic ignition, seeing as it's near impossible to get something as simple as a condenser, so after a bit of fact finding on the forum, a phone call to 'Space Ace' Pete who did it to his ute, and asking John (OldnEK) to order me a Pertronix kit for my Bosch Dizzy. I had a week and a bit wait to see what got into town first (a condenser from Melbourne or a Pertronix Electronic ignition kit from the U.S.)
GUESS WHICH GOT INTO TOWN FIRST?

So after much stuffing around I'm the proud owner of an 'modernized' Grey motored EK Sedan.
It starts SOOO easily now and idles silky smooth. :D
I'm one happy camper :D :D :D :D
Special thanks to: John (Protune..OldenEK)..Reid, for helping me enter modern life less painfully. Garry (this'll cost you a JD or two) Mc Donald, for making me realize that I was one tooth out on my dizzy
And Pete (Space ACE) Alexander for being not too annoyed with my stupid questions!

Scotty.

sounds like the condensor sort of did you a favour Scotty. Mail from the US is amazing. I ordered a t-shirt from texas earlier in the year and I had it within 5 days.

G'day All...
After getting the EK running so smoothly with the electronic ignition, new plugs, leads & cap, I thought I'd get rid of that annoying little dead spot just off idle and buy the car a present of a carby kit. After forking over $43 (and that was a trade price!) at the local Repco (I remember these used to cost $12..must be getting old  ), I decided to get the carby off and clean out any junk that had collected in it over the last year.
Well one thing lead to another and I got carried away with the cleaning job and buffed the thing while it was in bits...here's it after I rebuilt it...I'm quite amazed it came out so shiny considering it was just a rough cast thing in the first place.

Oh yeah and the clean out, adjustment & kit seemed to have fixed the flat spot as well. YAY.
