Brake hose issue has been resolved.

Thank you HR Premier sedan, for your springs donation.
Had to drill new holes in frame to get them to fit properly.

All rust areas have been identified and has now been cut out.
About 12 separate areas in all.
A couple of larger areas, and several smaller areas ...... Just annoying.
Hopefully tomorrow will start the fabricating the various patches and welding them back in. Will probably take some time to get them all right.

Hope the ones, underneath at the back, aren't too close to the fuel tank....

Didn't get to welding today.
All cleaned up and did the rust treatment into all the open areas.
Welder is ready to go......





While I have a few cavities open I performed some "liposuction" on the car.
Made up a suction tube on the end of the vacuum cleaner to get deep into the cavities.
Worked really well.

Don't forget to use all the safety gear...

Shoe horn was sitting around and very helpful for bending and shaping metal for welding into holes.
Hard to get the right shapes sometimes.

I wonder if all your patches will be shoe shaped? have you got a left and a right?

Finally removed the tailgate.
With my new special tool.







Impact drivers are a good invention.

This one is OK, but the other side is broken.
It's all one peice

Started stripping down the roof.
A couple of surface rust areas, still more preparation to be done.

Finally got some paint.

Etch primed previously,

Did the first rub back, Looking a lot smoother.
Still need to do again and get rid of some low spots.
