DOLLER wrote:Looking good Scoob. Coming along very nicely. Are you running a short nose water pump (308) and matching Gilmer Drive?
If so are you intending on using the standard altinator mount or wont that line up???
If that doesn't line up, do you know of an after market mount that will line up? Hmmm many questions.........
Yes I am running the short water pump as there is limited space to the radiator.
Tried quite a few different alternator mounts with no joy so my mate has made up a template for a bracket and sent it away to get laser cut.
I'll try and get some photos of it next time I'm over there.

Cheers, the work was done by my mate to make room for the pipes as I'm not a fan of the pipes through the guard.

Yeah mate pipes through the gaurds never look pretty.
I noticed earlier in your posts that you had the exhaust in and it looked pretty sweet, was it still to close? I think the min gap needs to be 15mm for memeory.
Even at 15mm you de think it would still blister the paint.

Yeah had the log headers made up and they fitted fine, they were a bit tight near the steering shaft and the engineer asked for a heat shield to protect the steering shaft.
My mate wants to make a set of individual pipe extractors that flow down through the gaps he just cut out so who am I to say no.
So will probably sell the log headers now

Looking great Scoob!
I'm with you on the not liking the heads running through a hole cut in the skirts, I reckon it looks unfinished like that.
I am very interested so see the end result of how it looks and how much clearance you end up with.
If it comes up as well as its heading it will be something I will look at doing too when I get to that stage.
Tell your mate his welds a great!

Iff ya interested in getting rid of those extractors, I'd be very interested to see how they fit on my FB. Dunno how they'de go for fitment, but they de be pretty bloody close. My engine looks like its mounted pretty much in the same position.
