ask yor engineer about the rear rails some will let you, allthough this could be dificult at the moment with the changes going on re: engineers reports, then there's allways just do it and say nothing what they don't know won't hurt them
to a question you asked in Rusty EK's thread, i've been doing a bit of rubbing of 2 pak primer and found allthough it still sucks it's much easier to rub it dry than wet, i know the primer i'm using says in it's warnings to wear a respirator if rubbing dry says not nessisary if doing wet and we've been told it doesn't matter what we do it's gunna kill us

Hey guys,
Its been a while since I've been here and unfortunately not much to report on !!
Went to the Gold Coast V8's with the boys and haven't had much motorvation since
Anyway just small things done like seat mounts, tunnel and bracing finished, and re rolling of the rear springs.
It gets an inch lower instantly and with my diff spring pad mounts a bit bigger than normal the rear will sit nice and low and still have good suspension travel. When you flip springs it makes them stiff both on shock and rebound so I am doing this because I have heaps of teeth fillings
Photos are crappy I think its time for a new camera !!!!
Till next time Greg

Well guys I have been pissed lately at all the whoo haar with engineers and NSW RMS/RTA that I have stalled.
On Friday I picked up some new plates and got all interested again, I have been waiting patiently for the numbers to come up and low and behold there they were. I know they were on a black 2 door, maybe it went interstate or something ????
So with new insparation I cut loose in the shed. I thought about it and have decided to adopt the VSB14 from now on, whats the worst that could happen
Made up all the seat mounts and underside plating. It has to be 3mm minimum and a surface area of no less than 3750mm2 per point.
The underside plates also need to be chamfered on the lead edge against the floor and have a minimum of 5mm radius on the corners.
I've got the seatbelts to do next and thats it apart from some tidy ups and I will start the paint.
Christ its been a long time
Regards Greg

Great plates Greg. Nothing like some inspiration to keep things moving.

Trans tunnel looks sweet as!
Did your engineer state that you had to brace underneeth to a certain strength/spec?C ant remember what mine said.
When I showed him last time there was only a 40x4mm flat "loop" joining the two sides with out the tunnel fitted and he didn't comment on it

Hi Doller,
Yes the engineer I am using has stated it must be a boxed section, I made it in 3 pieces from 2mm plate cut the end shapes and welded a filler strip inside and out then smoothed it back with a flap disc.
My engineer requested it to have rolling sides , blending into the floor brace as best as possible. I know its a bit overkill but I still have the top brace as well cause the tunnel is from an EK auto.
