Nah, you can definately make em look better. EK grills look shithouse imo. A good grill bar with some little indicators like FB ones on the ends, now that would look good.

Edit: Just the example i was looking for. This is from the Brian Bass built '49 Chev Fastback on the HAMB.

If you could make an FB/EK front end look as good as this you'd be onto a winner.

Deadslead, you 'ol HAMBer you..
Truth is you can make an FB EK custom look BETTER if you want   .
I like Mick's ideas...have a look at the rough artwork I did a few pages back and you get the gist (as it where)...just think we have to sit back and watch and see how this custom becomes when finished, remember this is a 'work in progress' and we just have to be patient. 8)
Wait till I start on my mild custom bits... then you can all have a good laugh!

I love the merc,The grill is going to be lifted a tad today as it was a bit low,
was going to have a bid on a fe grill on epay but its 80mm to wide.
I think it will look great when its finished, lots of people said the upside down lights would look shithouse(maybe they still do)but I think they look good, maybe Im wrong and I should take it back to original NOT.
Yes I relaxed a bit last night with my friend VB and was pondering about the grill, how about taping my cans together with masking tape and using that as a grill,it would look fully sick!!
Not upright but top to bottom, maybe that green and yellow insulation tape would be better will post a pic later.

Have you thought about using an FE FC front bumper?
The curved corners might give the lower lights a bit of room and make them look integrated.

Mick,

Thats actually a '49 Chevy with Merc front sheetmetal grafted to it.

I'm considering running an EK rear bumper on the front of mine, because i'm using a '52 Buick rear bumper on the rear.

Have you thought about getting a couple of EK front bumpers, and cutting and splicing them to make a thicker bumper?

Imo, when it comes to building a custom.. theres so many options and your only limited to what you can think of (and i guess if you have the skills to do it :P ).

Where abouts in Brisbane are you anyway? If i remember correctly, you've mentioned Cleveland / Wellington Pt before..

I'd love to see this thing in person.
