Hi Craig,

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for posting up your ID numbers. Whereabouts are you located? Any more pics and details of your EK?

regards

Thanks Stewart
Im located on the bayside in Bisbane.
Have owned the car for about 5 years.
Still has grey motor and three on the tree, drum brakes, never had seat belts fitted. Extractors were fitted when i bought it and dragway mags (since removed in favor of stocko's). iv'e lowered it 2" and refitted the original steering wheel.
Mate has a Sydney built FB ute, he is going to write down the numbers for me and i will post them as well and a photo of the plate as well.

Gday All
Found an EK Special wagon in a shed recently. Its for sale - must be removed. It's been there since 1999.
I suspect it may have been resprayed after previous rust repairs. A quick (inexpert!) inspection revealed -
interior surprisingly good except for front seat and front armrests
door cards real good, headlining great except for small split/bit hanging down (at back left corner)
Front floors seem good (previously replaced?) sub-frame seems real good'
rear floors rusty - need replacement
Outer sills not good; previously bogged up, inner sills seem good
12000 miles; general wear on interior would indicate this is 112000
couldnt get eng nbr; too dark in shed (apply this to all info above!)
but eng appears to be a reco (irridescent blue paint on side plate)
clutch n brake pedals wont move, appears to be stuck in gear or more likely, brakes seized.
But its all there. Damage to lr guard.
body EK 229 M9345 M
Trim 772-972
Paint 585-4620
(roof?) 585-0246
Could anyone here decipher those numbers; I would be interested to find out if the current maroon/ white top paint is original colours.
I know there is probably somewhere here on the forum to get this info, but I'm a computer illiterate old fart n cant find it.
This car is up for sale; house sold, car must also go; I dont think I want it; a friend is looking at it, but if he declines it could get crushed and that would be a crying shame. Another local bloke has next option, but I reckon he'll just put it on evilbay - not do it up.
Any help re numbers above would be appreciated
Car is in western Vic. Must be removed within a month. When I checked it out, I didnt have a camera, but could possibly get some pics if anyone interested

cheers jack

Hi JC, this wagon was made in (what is now a very rare colour) "Madang Maroon" mainly found on EJ's. The roof is Snowcrest white!

Thanks Steve. When looking at the trim colours, I figured the maroon and white was probably original colour; a bit of blue paint under the maroon caused some doubt, plus I've never seen a stock FB/EK this colour.
