BLOWER
depends how you set up the engine, i know it's a holden V8 but if you get a chance look at spyders van we did the same set up a few years back in a ute, we had a tunnel ram with carbies and a hilbourn type scoop, the rear of the scoop would've been under the bonnet and front would've just stuck out
ek for us

Mate. progress is great.
Be carefull not to lose sight of what you want out of this car.
As with mine I wanted it to be a daily driver, now, I take it out on my days off and I'm to shit scared to leave it in the street.
What I see with your build is what happened with mine, the more you look at it, the more you can see ways to improve on your original plan.
I'm sure with your attention to detail your car will rule, just don't let it overcome you.
Keep up the great work.

I think if I had my time again and I didnt have the carbys and throttle body injection sitting on the shelf I definately would go Chev tuned port injection.
If you come across a complete engine say out of a corvette or the likes even better. Good fuel economy nice and powerfull on pump gas and looks the part as well.
It will fit under the bonnet and you can drive everyday.
Ive had my fair share of strong motors and you do get sick of the thirst and unreliability.Nothing worse than building motors when you could be driving around all the time.
Like Mal said its what you want but bigger is not allways better.

Sounds good Fatboy, are you talking electronic injection or mechanical? The search on the web brings up all Mopar related gear?? Thanks for the idea, I had thought of the injection hat but didn't want the headaches associated with mechanical injection - electronic would be the go!! I read something in one of the street machine mags about electronic injection fitted to a hat.....I try and dig it up and have a good read.

Have you got an overall measurement from the sump to the top of the hat? Is it a 5lt holden or chev? The motors not a f, f, f, fo fffffffo fffffffffor... sorry can't bring myself to swear on the forum

Thanks Mal, this car was aslways going to be a 2 day a week driver and not to be left out off sight which is a pain in the butt knowing that you can't leave something parked without worrying that some "clown" will scratch it

. This one will be taken on club runs, shows, weddings and the once a week run to work where it will be safely parked in the shed

. Probably won't be able to afford the fuel to run it everyday anyway

The "other EK" will be setup as a full daily driver with an LS1 in it.
Mick and Luke, thanks for your feedback, Mick I will checkout spyders van and have a closer look.

Thanks Fatboy!! That does help, it looks like I will scrape in even if I go twin Carbies but that will take a bit more work (ie: sump mod). The EFI injection hat looks fantastic, read the article in SM again .... $6000..

but it would be worth it in the long run. I tried to call ProFlo but they must be shut still, can you tell me what the go is with an aircleaner?? the only ones I've seen for these hats attach to the front and cover the butterflies......
BTW: your 5lt looks killer!!!
Thanks again for taking the time to measure the height

V8EK4US,
Its obvious at this point that you've done this sort of thing before or you've just got big balls and dont mind experimenting.
Does the 4 link set up allow for axle articulation you know left wheel up right down and vice versa if so how much?
Apparently the 4 link is great for straight line work but dosen't cut it when cornering at high speed, any thoughts?
I love your ferosity, it certainly keeps me inspired.
