I scratched the memory trying to remember how they went back in, I did dummy up a shock and it looked spot on but I see what you mean about the mount pointing forward I'll take another look on the weekend.

There is a slipper pad in there just hard to see.

Small issue hoping someone may be able to help, with the amount of panel replacement done on the old girl they have forgotten to put in some access holes to get to the rear top shock mount. Strewth. That looks very much like what I did with my FC sedan, except that I modified an HT rear shock absorber upper mount member to suit.

From memory, the distance between centres of the mounting holes is 425 mm. The shocks lean inwards at about 45 degrees, and the mounting holes are about 50 mm below "floor level". I'm guessing then that the access holes would be 425 - 35 -35 mm apart, that is 355 mm.

I'll try FE-FC again. Nope. Too many LLM bots scraping content.

Best thing to do is get a piece of steel rod, sharpened to a point. Send it up through the top mounting holes from underneath, duplicating as near as possible the "lay" of the rear shocks, and give it a good whang with a hammer. Instant centre-punched location. Go in with a 40 mm dia hole saw from the top.

Chrome is something we still need to sort have it all there but it needs to be rechromed, we are tossing up the idea of colour coding the rear bumperets and front bumper. Unless we come across a full set of rechromed components we would jump straight on that id say.

This is Cottesloe cream, I'm no expert and could have been told by no expert but have been told its a reasonably rare colour and was only on some last of the Ute's only in Ek and was more used in Ej's ?

it is more an EJ colour, i also had a ute in that colour, interesting story and i may have told it before when the door trims were removed from mine on the back of one was hand drawn in pencil an EJ ute
