Got 12mm marine ply. They talked me put of the hoop pine ply but I kind of so hee they hadn't. Was $267 versus $120 the only reason. KBS diamond coat was the clear recommended by Steve.

There has been a few floating around ebay - i picked one up for 30$ 12 months ago in very good nick - or try warburton spares - he seams to have plenty of stuff out there but ask for pics first as some of it is just rusty crap
Never done any of this before Blacky so each new task gets approached with some trepidation.
I will repair the badge with epoxy resin and glass fibre no problem. Just another task I didn’t need. I do have a very nice repro already but needs chroming, and pins so easier to fix this.

Clay - I’d be interested to hear how you find the diamond finish clear from kbs. I’ve had mixed results - seems to spray much better than it brushes on. Easy to get gas bubbles with the brush...
