Yeah thats a bugger but it doesn’t look out of place so no issue really - I’m sure plenty would have been fitted to fb/ek just like that

Errol62 wrote:Thanks Greg. Not entirely sure on it. The stalk was fitted to my van when I got it but it is FE FC. The mirror won't mount to the FB EK style stalk. It seems slightly wide for the visors. I know EKs got s wider mirror but I wonder if they had to shorten the visors.

That's right Tim. Was fitted to my van. Must check the headli ing to confirm if it was factory fit.

Feels good getting back in to body work and painting now weather is warming up. It was the same as when I previously went back to rust repairs after getting in to the body work.
Been prepping the doors to surface after dousing them in Epotec etch last summer. I was working on the guards at the end of last season but doors go on next.ImageImageImage

Driver side door seal is in. I have left the original seal at the front guard interface. This is s problem area as the repro seals don't have the flap that fit a under the guard and the front edge of the door can tear the seal out when opening the door. I wanted to leave the flap and the sdsl is in fair condition. It doesn't really get seen. The seals themselves I salvaged from the EK sedan body which I sold to gledge. The glue I'm using is basically just contact adheasive with a flash brand. It has a tendency to dissolve the paint so have to be a bit careful. Wipes off ok if you are quick. ImageImage

They will do for now. Will remove some air from above them in due course. $110 per corner, which is the same price I paid for the first set of tyres I ever bought for my HK wagon in about 1978.
