Thanks for the interest Drew. I get nearly as much joy out of the forum interaction as I do out of the tangible results. Would love a wagon one day. But then I remember when I had my sedan on the road, thinking how good it would be to have a low Ute with big rubber.

Thanks Rob.
Hole spacing is a bit out so I just reamed them with the drill.

It is coming along nicely Clay. That mirror is a functional accessory particularly with the modern headlights as they can dazzle quite easily when following.

Cheers Stephen.
Something to post at last.

Kick boards were waiting for me on the front doorstep when I got home from my work trip.
Called in on old mate Dudley on the way home as I had heard he was not the best and wanted to show him some photos of the progress on the ute. The toll of a hard working life is telling on him., but he is a tough old bugger and keeps going. We went out in the yard and looked at some tanks (but they were sedan) and a bonnet, which was rusted right through the back edge from standing on its end in the weeds. The letters were in a poor state. He still opens Saturday mornings with a bit of help but how much longer I wonder. Dud gave me a name and number for an Adelaide guy does wiring looms, Sean Basford I think. I’ll certainly give him a call.

Thanks Greg. Not entirely sure on it. The stalk was fitted to my van when I got it but it is FE FC. The mirror won't mount to the FB EK style stalk. It seems slightly wide for the visors. I know EKs got s wider mirror but I wonder if they had to shorten the visors.

Ive hot one of those in mine - I’ll take a couple pics in a minute - it mounted on an EK stalk easy enough - Ive got a couple extras if you need one

Got plenty of FB EK mirrors and stalks thanks Rob. This one won't fit on them as the mount attached to the swivel ball is threaded rod not flat.
