You usually end up doing each bit 3 times and it takes so long to do.

Take 2 Manifold fits much better - off to HP coatings - 2 inch SU fits up nice as well so going to try that first - linkage sorted with a redline one and spring return - getting there ImageImageImageImage

You may be in for hours of fun massaging the bonnet bar if my experience getting one to clear around my red motor head is anything to go by Rob. Simple in theory and complex in application.

Food for thought - once out I will track it on a big bit of card - can alway cut a section out and weld a straight piece in - it clears now but possibly may touch when motor flexes.

I had the linkage hang up when I first fitted the Myers headers to the FB. Jammed on at full noise, quiet suburban street. Thankfully at low speed. Kids thought I was prepping for a burnout

Mr FJWally

I would cut it in the middle of the curve then heat and bend both bits until the desired shape is achieved then trim until the desired length is right.

I would then chamfer the edges and do one weld.

Just don't send it to your overseas mates for the welding :evilll: :evilll: :evilll:

LOL - thankfully my mates make very good socks - thats a good suggestion though - one weld rather than two makes a lot of sense.

Cheers

I would $*#@ around for hours cold bending it here and there until happy. The main thing to watch for is that when you straighten it for clearance it will start fouling on the firewall. The other thing is keeping the pivot end bar parallel and coaxialYou could cut and shut I suppose but won’t be any quicker or more effective imho.

Yes thats why I wanted to only adjust that curve near the firewall bracket as there is heaps of clearance to firewall - i may even weld a peace in before i cut it to ensure the angles all stay correct Image
