Bit of turps soon got rid of the old tape. Still jigging it around trying to get it perfect. It was sitting away from the screen slightly at bottom centre where we started with the cord. Leveling up with a blade between trim and rubber while drifting atop rubber on the inside virtually eliminated this. Same issue at the sides where the bottom curve is. Looks like it is leaking water drivers side bottom corner so bit more sealant in there first.

Leave it in the sun then slap it around a bit, it will still move and settle.

Looking good clay, the progress at this point is rewarding.

Thanks for the advice Greg. Yes I was thinking some heat but if only the sun would come out again. Looking forward to fitting visors, mirror and belts. Maybe even the seat, but first the rear window.

Here we go with the rear screen install. I'll do a search as I recall someone doing this recently. Was it on Graces Ute Harv?

Yep, we did Grace's rear screen not long ago (by we I mean Jim the Windscreen Whisperer did it, and I stood around and looked concerned). Easy enough to put in compared to a front screen, though the Rares rubber needs to be redrilled to suit the steel divider bolts (spacing is wrong).

Cheers,

Yes the rear screen went in a lot easier thanks Harv, with the willing assistance of Rafferty once more. He particularly enjoyed dabbing off the dab off sealant which is great stuff. Far more suitable than ordinary mastic for this particular application I would say, and no dearer than the Selleys butyl mastic from Bunnings. I've got to cook dinner now so will tidy up tomorrow arvo.ImageImage

The hole spacing on my rares rubber looks close enough to massage into position by the way.

Also meant to say what a difference having the glass in makes to the look and feel of the shell. Really starting to seem like a car again now.

Yes, its a big step getting headlining and windows in. Jealous as! Can't wait to see that picture of your wife and daughter again- only this time in the finished car. Wonderful restoration that you've shared with us.
