Montana Grey Harv - probably a little shinier than the original paint but being a two pack should be a durable option.
Paint - 585-4587 - montana grey
Harv wrote: Thu Oct 25, 2018 1:07 pm That grey really looks great. Looks very similar to the Silverton Grey on Grace's ute. Which colour grey is it?

Cheers,
Harv

Why did EAP have to colour match? Being a protec reseller they should have the colour on file.

FJWALLY wrote: Sun Jan 22, 2017 7:51 am Have tried a couple of pre-mixed spray cans in Montana grey from different suppliers but all seam to have a darker shade and are poor matches so the code has been misinterpreted over time I think.

Ended up taking my ash tray (100% original and non-faded) to Eastern Auto paints in Bayswater and they colour matched it - came up beautifully so if anyone wants the correct colour they can just ask for Montana Grey (special) and they will get the correct colour.
protec paint is dulon is it not? i thought only non protec suppliers had to colour match.

Ah no sweat - I'm with you now - to be honest I know as much about paint as I do about women so I'd have to ask Matt what the go is - for the paint - not the women - yes the cans I had previously for the rims were done from listed paint codes but were miles off what we were seeing on the car itself and it had been out of the sun most of it's stored life - we polished up the ashtray lid as the best visual/ most protected area to double check and Matt at back to life did the rest- it was mixed to same code as original but perhaps being in a larger volume and a different paint to what's in a spray can it came out perfect.

went and had a look at some of the paint on Friday - man it's going to be like diving into a deep pool of Montana Greyness - will have to get the cotton gloves out now to put it back together - no Scratchy scratchy. :D

Ha Ha - yeah Neil I'm thinking I just do one deliberately then I dont have to worry anymore thats it's perfect.

I saw Bunnings have those underlay type blankets pretty cheap - might get a few of those just to protect the bigger panels.
