Thanks DR & Feebee.
My outer door seals have been express posted today so hopefully next week I'll be fitting up the doors and it'll be drive time!

Hey Wayne, have you got your new headlining yet? Just interested to see if yours turns out well like mine did.

Thanks mate. I have to agree although I'm probably a bit biased. Cant believe how lucky I was to get the seats off Rusty (many thanks to you). Its just a pity they're only temporary till I get my trim from the states. How's Milkshake going? Got them carbies done yet?

I gave my tired interior lining to Betta and they did a great job of making up a new one for me and it fitted perfect.

Good and bad update today. Finally got all doors on yesterday and went for my first few short distance test drives.

The joy was short lived

as my rear main is leaking more than I like (bring back asbestos rope seals...not this crap they are sealing today). I also had a bad ticking noise in the clutch when I backed off at speed. The noise disappeared when I put my foot on the clutch to take up free play. Anyway I pulled the engine and box yesterday and stripped the lot down. WARNING to all using these "upgrade" clutch kits on eBay. The pressure plates are too big on the outer casing compared to the original. As my crank is ground to its limit with 008" end float this was enough to let the whole lot float back till the pressure plate was contacting the inside of the bell housing. Also the Pressure plate disc outer tabs that are strapped to the cover assembly was touching the bell housing when the clutch pedal was full depressed. I'll post some pics tonight when I come up with a solution.
Also got the stinking flew................farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk

I've marked the spots yellow where the pressure plate was contacting the bell housing. I've got the die grinder out and dressed back the edges of the pressure plate on the outer cover. The spot in the bell housing where there is two small casting lumps and they've been dressed back. The outer rivet on the pressure plate disc should not be an issue now, and as the clutch plate wears this should increase the clearance.
Finished the rear main this morning after repacking tighter and leaving more protruding excess at the joins. Its still a difficult job with keeping the section in the cap in place and compressed after taking the tool out then fitting the cap to the crank. I'm still not happy with the rope as its doesn't compress and release like the old stuff. Time will tell after the next test run.
F.....n flue still persists. Wedding is getting closer too....only 6 weeks.
