My Old mate Pete's FB standard back in 1971 somewhere on the Murray River.
He used to like to go and visit 'Old Alf' from the Dora Dora Hotel over the border in NSW ( See 'Australian Pub Crawl' book published in 1977 - lots of good street scenes in that book too)
His FB standard was I believe a different grey to seagull grey. It was originally sold to the Navy, hence the re-rego starting with K. He used to put large profile tyres on the back "to give me better miles per gallon, lad!"
I believe the Hubcaps got pinched so he upgraded to EK ones, likewise with a few chrome bits.
His mate 'The ghost" used to run a towing business and regularly towed around cars around that had been 'written off' for Pete to scavange parts off then Ghost would take the body away.
Notice the wide Vic rego sticker on the slim FB vent window. Often FB EK owners put them vertical like Pete.
Cheers
Paul K
