Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well and getting by despite the continuing saga. Sheez when I look back its been over 5 years since my last post. In that time the old girl has sat pretty much idle with not much progress on the build. Lately but, we have been getting stuck in with and now for the first time in a looooong time I can sit in her and push pedals, grab the wheel and shift gears, which felt very cool. Next things to sort out are fuel tank and radiator.
Ill put some pics on soon.
Cheers
Mick

You got a good eye Blacky. Yes it is a Rodeo seat. Not sure what year model its out of. Some dude had it for his EK but decided not to use it. I was originally planning to fit buckets but I really want to keep it registered a a 3 seater, The Rodeo seat is a bloody perfect fit and has the cutout for the floorshift. She's a pretty basis seat with only a single position for the back rest but it does tilt forward for access behind the seat. I plan to have it re-covered in black canvas and have some of the padding bolstered up a but to make it a bit more comfy.
Collapsible steering column is 28 inch from a mob called Parts for Hot Rods. Its a pretty impressive unit for the $840 price tag and even has tilt adjustment. I couldn't find a steering a woodgrain steering wheel I liked that had the diameter I wanted and 9 bolt pattern so I decided to make one. What you see is my prototype and I've had a mate machine some plywood up to fit to each side of the ring which I will attempt in the next week or 2.

sits high for a rodeo seat the one i had in my 2 door the back was level with the tops of the doors, i guess it has something to do with your floor hump

Yeah that floor hump looks a lot higher than the stock one Mick

Yeah it is a fair bit higher. It needed to be for the Tremec 6 speed. Probably wouldn't be an issue with buckets but obviously a bench has to sit on top of it. Still it's not too high, not for me anyway. I still have a couple of inches clearance above my head and its at the perfect height for fatarmin it.
Gotta watch you head when your gettin in but.

Hi Guys,
Just been slowly ticking away at it, Exhaust is done, Radiator almost in, Stainless steel Fuel tank getting made and weve just started to pre fit all the bolt on stuff and set all the panel gaps . Plan is to fully assemble the whole car including brake and fuel lines, wiring, lights, chrome etc then take it all apart again before it goes to paint. Filled a shopping trolley at Rares last week with the rubber kit, lenses and some other stuff and gathering up all the bits and peices to go back on the car.
A few years back I picked up an old Ute from SA to use for parts. Didn't realise what I was actually getting for my money at the time but it would seem this ol girl was fully specced up with al the mod cons of the era. Sunvisor, scratch plates, tie rails, Lowline canopy and a fair dinkum warm ride heater.
