Yup... the mounts on my car are too far forward. I looked at them when i boiught the crossmember at all Holden day swap.
I tried to remember exactly where the mounts sat when i domne the Hr front end / 186 conversion on the green EK ute.
All that gear came out of my sons EH sedan and fitted up bewt .. no mods straight into the EK ute without any problems and .. reasonably good clearance from the radiator to fan.
It ran the old 3 speed crash box and everything sat on the mounts fine.
Having now seen where the mounts need to sit I will either drop the front end and move the mounts .. or.... buy the 2 HR front ends off old mate. Will check and if the mounts on one of them sit right at the rear. I will use it.
Uneconomicsal repair... basically means .. write off.. damage repair bill more than agreed value....but not .. from my understanding a statuary write off ( never to be repaired). RTA cancel rego, plates handed in , Vin never to be reregistered.
From what i have been told by the beater and verbally from Shannons
i take it that they pay me the insured value of the car.. And ,..as stated on my policy ... I get salvage rights.. so i keep the car.
Then... either put money with Shannons cheque and have the car
Repaired by the time consuming ( and expensive) method of completely removing / unstitching the entire side and replacing it with a new old stock panel.. i know of 3 now.

Doing a cut on the damaged area and miging oxy in a 1/2 gaurd section ... my preferd option which ... hopefully on completion would leave me with $$$$ to do a bit of other panelwork on the car as well.
