Whats that white car next to yours in the last pic on the last page? Looks like an Austin Tasman.

Trev, the car beside mine is a Vauxhall owned by Simon Watts, the other is a 52 Hudson with a carson style top.

Wow - I'd only ever seen photos of this car in it's purple phase (if that's the same vehicle?) so this is bloody awesome seeing build pics of the whole process!

No need to be sorry for the trim either really pre-dates when I did mine. Almost all good custom rticks have been done by someone somewhere....

Prior to painting the door handles were removed and push buttons installed. This was done using the the origional buttons with the shaft trimmed down, some steel tube that the buttons fitted into was welded into the door. The buttons were then put in from the inside & held in by the mechanism.

A year or so later it was time for another change. The paint had suffered badly from always being outside, and the drivers rear door had been stoved in by some gimp with poor driving skills.
A continental kit was in order. After SunnyTim said they were wrecking a car, I grabbed the rear quarters off it & grafted them on about 10 inches back. It can be quiet daunting cutting so much metal off your car, but suprisingly this was an easy job.

Ratbox, I will post a better pic of that hubcap setup later.
They were FBEK caps with bullet centres, 3 spinner blades on the outside edge of the cap over HR trim rings. Oh, & call it being inspired.
