Can someone swap my accelerator for me?

If it doesn't fit below then post here and see if another FB EK fanatic can help you out.

Billy Billy Billy, What you are describing is (I think) the L300 cable stay that you would have to get off the L300!!!

thanks trev

still using the same cable setup, but have changed over to an x2 manifold with twin strommys 8) 8)
just purchased a few bits n pieces from speco to make this work, ie: cable holders - inner/outer, ball joint & a throttle lever
& had a bracket made up
im confident you could addapt the L300 cable, to almost any carb/manifold setup

Looks cool as Ray 8) I know you were looking for a more period look under the bonnet with the carby setup, you certainly nailed it!. So how does she run now? any more power etc?

ok its time for me to get around to ripping out the old linkage and whack a cable in (hopefully it will smooth out my acceleration and get rid of the big jump that occurs) I've got a 350 Holley on a 202 motor in my FC wagon (i'm assuming its the same set up for an FC)
I'm getting my mechanic to fit it when he does some other stuff for me. (unless somebody in Perth is reading this and is available to do it for me (cheaply :D ))So at$90/hr i need to supply explicit details.
question 1..what parts exactly do i need to be carrying away from the mitubishi wreckers ? cable, guide, anything else ?
Q2.....is the guide required ? can the cable run up the firewall inside the engine bay
Q3...what unexpected problems can i expect (theres ALWAYS unexpected problems !)
the guys have done cables before but on f##ds not OLD Holdens and they like Holleys so the carby end shouldnt be a problem

sorry for dumb questions but I'm NOT mechanically minded and need as much help as possible

old Holdens never die... but they do breakdown in some inconvenient places !
Where the hell is Widgiemooltha ???

Gday surferboy 8)

not too sure if fe/c's are the same, but you should be able to adapt this setup

from a wreckers - you'll need a complete L300 cable (from pedal to carby) which will be shortened to suit - when fitted

its a bit hard to say without seeing your carby (pic) - to see whats in place already, but...

1st you'll need an inner cable holder - attaches throttle lever(carby) to inner cable

2nd youll need an outer cable holder - holds outer cable to a fixed point, usually a bracket etc attached to carby base (see pics)

3rd youll need a return spring or 2, & maybe a balljoint (see pic of my twin setup)

you can source the above parts thru stockists of speco & or redline carby bits

dont know if you can do away with the guide bit?, as it acts as a fixed point for the pedal end

dont know about unexpected problems, relitively basic setup - but you may need to extend pedal lever to gain full throttle :?:
make sure when you source your throttle cable its not freyed, kinked etc & moves freely

some extra good info here:

good easy setup for those long roadtrips surferboy  :D
& like you said, "shouldnt be a problem"

cheers ray
