Then I grabbed a piece of 100 x 6 flat bar to use for the bracket, had to make it 60mm wide through the base of the seat so I fired up the rotary plasma cutter and knifed the sides down - that’s that bit done, tomorrow will mount the console and paint it hopefully

Got the rest of it sorted today, but ran out of hifill primer - my panel beating skills or lack thereof means hifill gets used a LOT In my shed ……
Who would have thought a beer can was the perfect size to rub out the scallops on an FB seat side

all primed up with etch

Insert and cup holders done

That console looks awesome.
Pretty sure the bush chook will work as rust convertor... does a good job of pickling things
Cheers,

Remove the cup holders and there is a strip of flat bar that screws to the 100x6

Good timing seeing you’ll be sitting your arses in it for a few thousand km soon. Looks great. Style and comfort.

Old seat out - oops moment - forgot about the bit that sits under the back window- found some Masonite in the shed , cut a piece to fit then off over to Drews to cover it in black marine carpet - will do for now but will redo it in blue later - also going to fill the seatbelt holes in the seat which got forgotten this time round.
