EK282 I have been looking at the American inspiration for some patina and I must admit that I like it a lot.
How does 2 pack go over Acrylic paint? Does it grab ok?

Blacky to be honest I am not quite sure about the colour, but you are the second bloke to suggest they it may be Honey Beige.
Silly me hasn’t even seen the compliance plate yet so I have contacted the guy for a photo of it.

When I get the paint code I’ll ask the question here.
All in all I think it may be a pretty rare specimen as I haven’t seen many STD wagons yet alone in this colour.

And I got pretty excited when I seen how solid the metal was too!

Looks like front seat been replaced with ute one? Haven’t seen any rust yet, great find.

Wow what a start,

If that cars been in the country then all of the sills and enclosed members might be full of dirt etc.

I would start with cleaning all that and rust treating from the inside out.

Gee a car that good if the insides are ok, in my opinion needs to be painted and brought back to life as a restoration. The body condition should allow the cost for a repaint to be significantly less than a full blown rust repair and paint.

Interesting obervation there Errol about the stainless windscreen trim, I didn’t realise the STD were colour coded.
I’ll probably just keep the stainless considering that I have them.
Yes finding a tailgate badge may be a challenge but I’ll keep my eyes open for one.

I’m not convinced all standards had painted steel screen trim - mine was a standard farm ute and had stainless trim screen and front and back light surrounds so it must of been an option in some cases surely

May have had a new screen fitted Rob. I'm not positive about commercials but I am about standards.

So I got a photo of the ID plate, and well wow it’s only just still there!
Apparently the previous owner fitted some kind of under dash speaker and you will see the results in the photo.

Details of the plate are as follows... (let me know if you guys have a rule against posting photo of body tags)

Errol - good observation about the front seat, to be honest I don’t have the knowledge to know the difference.
Would it be possible it was factory fitted?
Seems all of the trim matches and is in the same condition suggesting that the interior is original.

Greg - yes if had ‘deeper’ pockets I would immediately commit to paint, but I’m hoping I can restore the original paint and keep the patina.
I’m even considering going down the survivor path with this one as it truly looks like it rolled out of a time machine.

Wally - Regards to the windscreen trim I will leave it stainless as it is what I have to work with. Stainless looks good around the windscreen, there is no denying that!
